Subscription Plans
What subscription options are available?
Primary Commodity Prices offers four subscription plans — Starter, Pro, Advanced, and Ultimate — each with progressively broader data access, delivery methods, and licensing rights.
- Starter — Designed for local or startup businesses. Access is geo-restricted to the country where the subscription was purchased.
- Pro — Suited for international businesses needing global access and price forecasts.
- Advanced — Best for business groups with automation needs (Most Popular). Includes Excel Add-In, Power BI, and API access.
- Ultimate — Tailored for consulting companies and service or software providers with integration needs. Available upon request.
How much does a subscription cost?
Subscription fees are billed annually per industry and displayed as a monthly rate, starting at $29 USD/month for the Starter plan.
Because subscriptions are sold per industry, the total fee scales with the number of industries included. All plans support credit card, PayPal, and wire transfer payments. Wire transfer incurs an additional USD 199 fee and takes 3–5 business days to activate.
Are subscriptions monthly or annual?
All Primary Commodity Prices subscriptions are billed annually. Monthly billing and single-access options are not available — three self-service plans (Starter, Pro, Advanced) can be purchased on the website, and the Ultimate plan is available on request.
For details on auto-renewal, wire-transfer renewal mechanics, and the price-lock guarantee, see Is there a monthly subscription option? and Does my subscription renew automatically each year?.
Is there a plan that includes price forecasts?
Price forecasts are included in Pro, Advanced, and Ultimate plans. Forecasts cover a rolling 6-month forward period for selected commodities and are updated monthly alongside all other price data.
The Starter plan does not include price forecasts. To access forecasts, the minimum plan is Pro at $49 USD/month per industry, billed annually.
How do I get access for multiple countries?
All plans include prices across all available locations for each commodity in the subscribed industries. The key difference is geographic access restrictions, not data coverage:
- Starter — Access is geo-restricted to the country where the subscription was purchased. Users physically located outside that country cannot log in and view the data.
- Pro, Advanced, and Ultimate — No geographic restriction. Users anywhere in the world can access the data.
If your team spans multiple countries or if you travel internationally, a Pro plan or higher removes this barrier entirely.
Geo-restriction on the Starter plan is enforced by IP address, not by the set of price locations covered. The data itself (prices for multiple countries and regions) is the same — only login access is restricted.
How do I get data into Excel or Power BI?
The Excel Add-In and Power BI integration are available for Primary Commodity Prices on Advanced and Ultimate plans. The setup, refresh workflow, and tooling are identical across Intratec products — for the full walkthrough see How do I get Intratec data into Excel or Power BI?.
Data request allowance for Primary Commodity Prices (per industry, per month, shared across Excel Add-In, Power BI, and API):
Starter and Pro subscribers do not have access to Excel Add-In or Power BI. Upgrading to the Advanced plan unlocks both features.
Can I share data with my whole business group?
Business group sharing — covering a parent company and its subsidiaries — is available on Advanced and Ultimate plans. Starter and Pro plans restrict data use to a single business entity.
The Advanced plan also supports multi-domain access (upon approval), which allows users from different subsidiary domains within the same business group to access the subscription.
The Ultimate plan extends rights further: data may be shared with third parties and integrated into the subscriber's own products and services.
Can I get a quote before purchasing?
A quote can be generated during checkout with no payment commitment required:
- Add the desired plan and industry to your cart.
- Fill in the billing information.
- Select a payment method.
- Click "Get a Quote" to download a PDF quotation immediately.
The PDF quote can be used for internal budget approvals or procurement workflows. No account or subscription is created until payment is completed.
Is there a plan for large-scale or bulk data needs?
The Ultimate plan is designed for organizations with large-scale data needs, including bulk API access, third-party distribution, and integration into products or services.
The Ultimate plan includes up to 20 API users and 500+ data requests per industry per month, making it suitable for teams running automated workflows across many commodities. It also unlocks third-party sharing, integration into proprietary systems, and multi-year subscription terms.
For organizations that need high-volume automation but do not require third-party sharing, the Advanced plan with the Extra Automation Package (500 requests/month/industry) may be sufficient.
A consulting firm that embeds commodity price data in a client-facing analytics platform would need the Ultimate plan. An internal analytics team automating price feeds into an ERP system could be served by the Advanced plan with the Extra Automation Package.
How many users can access my subscription?
Primary Commodity Prices follows Intratec's standard per-plan user limits — 2 (Starter), 3 (Pro), 5 (Advanced), up to 20 (Ultimate). The Ultimate plan additionally supports multiple domain access for users from different subsidiaries within the same business group.
For the rules on adding users, business-email-domain requirements, and the Starter geo-restriction, see How many users can access a subscription? and What does "geo-restricted access" mean for my plan?.
API and Integration Access
How do I integrate the data into my own systems?
The REST Web API enables direct, programmatic access to Primary Commodity Prices data. It is available on Advanced and Ultimate plans and is compatible with workflow automation tools and internal systems.
Advanced plan — 1 API user with 10 to 500 requests per industry per month, depending on the automation tier selected at checkout.
Ultimate plan — Up to 20 API users with 500+ requests per industry per month, designed for enterprise-scale integration.
The API is compatible with Microsoft Logic Apps, N8N, Zapier, and other automation platforms, as well as ERP and proprietary systems. It provides access to current data and full historical archives.
Data requests are counted collectively across the API, Excel Add-In, and Power BI — all three automation methods share the same monthly allowance. Intratec's Automation Needs Assistant can help you estimate the right tier for your usage.
Can I share data with third parties or clients?
Third-party sharing requires an Ultimate plan. Standard plans limit data use to the subscriber's own organization or business group.
With an Ultimate plan, organizations can share Intratec data with clients, embed it in client-facing platforms, and integrate it into their own products or services. Reselling raw Intratec data is not permitted under any plan, including Ultimate.
The Ultimate plan is available upon request. A preliminary quote tailored to your needs can be generated in under 3 minutes on the Ultimate plan page.
