# Data Corrections and Complaints

## How does Intratec handle errors in published data? {#how-does-intratec-handle-errors-in-published-data}

If you believe a price assessment is incorrect, start by contacting our Support Team through the contact form. Our team will explain in detail how that assessment was produced under our published methodology.

Most discrepancies are resolved at this stage — usually by clarifying a difference in assessment basis (a spot price and a transaction price are not the same figure and are not expected to match), or by confirming that the assessment is consistent with the source data behind it. If the explanation does not settle it, the formal complaint process below is the next step.

A value that changes after publication is not necessarily an error. Preliminary (P) figures are revised to Final (Fi) figures as official statistics arrive — that is expected behavior, described in What do the Final, Preliminary, and Forecast labels mean? on our methodology site.

## How do I submit a formal assessment complaint? {#how-do-i-submit-a-formal-assessment-complaint}

If you still believe the methodology was applied incorrectly after our Support Team's explanation, you can submit a formal complaint. Use our Contact Form, select "Feedback/Suggestions" as the inquiry type, and begin your message with the title **"Assessment Complaint"**.

Include three things, so the review can start without a round trip:

1. The specific assessment(s) in question — commodity, location, and date range.
2. A description of the discrepancy and the reference you are comparing against.
3. The assessment basis of that reference.

Our management team reviews the complaint. If a discrepancy in our data is confirmed, the affected figure is corrected and the change is documented in our monthly, publicly available Release Notes; we may also issue coupons redeemable on the Intratec website or, in exceptional cases, a pro-rata refund.

How a confirmed complaint feeds back into the methodology itself is described in How can a subscriber question a published figure? on our methodology site.
